The country I chose to blog about is Germany. I picked Germany because I have family there, and I visited many times. Germany is in Central and Western Europe. It stretches from the Alps, across the North European Plain to the North Sea. It is the second most populous country in Europe after Russia, and is the seventh-largest country by area on the continent. Germany is roughly the size of the state of Montana.  Germany's primary natural hazard is storms and floods. Natural hazards/catastrophes and natural disasters are related yet are not the same. A natural hazard is a threat of an event that most likely will have a negative impact. A natural disaster/catastrophe is the negative impact following in the aftermath of the natural hazard.
